Indoor Air Quality

To improve energy efficiency, HVAC systems are built tight and sealed to conserve the energy within the home or building. When doing this, we are trapping air pollutants in along with our desired temperature. But, as we improve energy efficiency, technology and practices have also developed to help combat air pollutants and improve the indoor air quality of your home. Our team will evaluate the levels of air within your home and offer honest advice on how to enhance the performance and increase of indoor air quality.

Infrared Thermography

Infared inspections allow us to see the otherwise invisible issues happening in your home. We can visualize energy losses, detect missing or defective insulation, locate air leaks, find moisture in insulation, in roofs and walls, both in the internal and the external structure, detect improperly insulated areas, locate thermal bridges, and even detect construction failures. Price is $0.08 Per Sq Ft

System Evaluation

We will inspect your cooling and heating system taking necessary measurements to determine if it is delivering what it is rated to deliver. After measurements have been recorded we can address the necessary steps required to have your system deliver its designed capacity. It is common to find equipment delivering lower than rated capacity. Services include:
  • Enthalpy Measurements of supply and return air to determine delivered BTU's
  • External static pressure measurements of indoor blower
  • Total external static pressure of indoor system
  • Super heat and sub cool refrigerant measurements

System Diagnosis for Repair

Performing diagnosis for HVAC systems, Once failures are discovered we will consult with you on best course of actions needed to get your system back running efficient again. All of our Service vehicles carry an extensive amount of replacement parts to get your system back up and running. In some cases where the equipment is using specialty OEM equipment these parts may require a return visit. We service all Brands and have a great network of distributors for fast delivery of required equipment and parts.

Manual Load Design

Are you building a new home? Does your existing system run constantly never achieving desired temperature? Is it above 50% Relative Humidity in your home? Your system may be sized improperly. It is common for equipment to be selected off rule of thumb which often results in over sized equipment. We often find equipment sized improperly trying to compensate for for leaky duct work or homes. We will gather all available data and present you with what you require to maintain desired comfort levels in your home.

Building Envelope Testing

A blower door uses a special fan that's mounted in the frame of an exterior door to pull air out of the house, lowering the air pressure inside. The pressure difference between the air inside and outside the house forces the outside air in through all cracks and openings. A pressure gauge measures the pressure differences inside and outside the home and an airflow manometer measures the airflow. The data provided by the blower door test allows the technician to quantify the amount of air leakage in your home.

Duct Tightness Verification Testing

Did you know that on average homes leak 20-30% of the air from their HVAC into unconditioned spaces? We will test your ductwork and provide an estimate for repairs to lower the leakage. New residential codes require a maximum 12% leakage. We often achieve less than 3%.  Duct tightness verification testing uses a diagnostic tool engineered to measure air-tightness of the HVAC system ductwork. The tool has devices that measure both air flow rate and pressure created by the fan flow. This combination of measurements are used to determine the air-tightness of the ductwork, which gives us additional information to achieve better energy conservation.
